In the Czech Republic there is a popular folk story about the Forefather Cech, who according to legend brought the tribe of Czechs into its land. When long and dangerous journey was over, the Forefather Cech ascended the high hill, looked around and saw the beautiful rivers, meadows and woods. And he cried: "My people, this land is truly full of animals, birds and fish, milk and honey. Let's stay here forever!” His companions happily agreed with the leader and named their new homeland “Czechie”. Several decades later the daughter of Cech, Libushe by name, a famous prophetess, indicated the place where, according to her visions, to be had built a small village of Prague, destined to become a beautiful capital of the new country.
